Lanka-India-Maldives coastguard exercise, a success

The trilateral joint exercises code named 'Dosti-XI' conducted between the Coast Guards of the Maldives, India and Sri Lanka has been highly successful, according to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

The commanders and some officers of the Coast Guards of all three countries said that the exercise has been highly productive, during a meeting after the conclusion of the five-day training exercise, MNDF said.A spokesman for MNDF also said that its Indian and Sri Lankan Navies had extended their gratitude to the Maldivian Coast Guard for the excellent logistical arrangements.

The participants of the meeting also discussed ways of overcoming the deficiencies and shortcomings during the exercise, the spokesman said.
