Nine girls and 9 boys for World Junior TT in Thailand

TABLE TENNIS: Nine girls and 9 boys will represent Sri Lanka at the
International and World Circuit Junior Table Tennis Championships
conducted by the International Table Tennis Federation which will be
held in Pataya, Thiland from 5th to 9th of May, 2012.
These competitors will compete at the under-12, 15 and 18 age
categories. The selected team has been submitted to the Minister of
Sports, Mahindananda Aluthgamage for his approval.
Peterites rout Kingswood by 65/5
St. Peter's went on a try scoring spree to trounce Kingswood by 65
points (7 goals, 4 tries) to 5 (1 try) in their Singer Under-20 School
Rugger match played at Bambalapitiya yesterday.
St. Peter's led 36-5 at the breather.Banuka Peiris (3), Danushka
Ranjan (6), Suraj Perera (1), Praveen de Silva (1) scored the tries for
the Peterite while the solitary try for Kingswood was scored by Uwin
Ariyaratne. - RA

SPORTS WEDDING .... Former Dharmaraja College, Kandy cricketer
Anuradha Jayasundera will marry Mahesha Wansekera - the former student
of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy on May 3 at Mahaweli Reach Hotel, Kandy.
Mahesha excelled in netball and athletics.
Anuradha captained Dharmaraja College in 2000/2001 and he also
captained Central Province in the same year. He was also in the Sri
Lanka fast bowlers pool under coach Rumesh Ratnayake.
Anuradha, a graduate from the Bangalore University, is a Commissioned
Officer in the Sri Lanka Navy. |
