CIC launches 'Wonder Bulb'
CIC Holdings PLC, in association with Orel Manufacturing and Hybrid
Technologies launched an air purifying CFL bulb.
"Branded the CIC Wonder Bulb, it sanitises air by killing micro
organisms in the air without the use of any harmful sanitisers," a
spokesman for CIC said.

"The innovative coating on the bulb not only kills germs, but also
destroys odours in the air," he said.
Chief Scientist, Hybrid Technologies, Manju Gunawardana said, "The US
Environmental Protection Agency states that indoor air is up to 10 times
more polluted than outdoor air. Indoor air pollution is caused by
volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde, styrene and toluene
being released from various household products, appliances and equipment
and micro organisms such as bacteria and viruses."
"The nano photocatalytic technology used in this product will
neutralise poisonous chemicals into harmless gaseous compounds such as
nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen," he said.
