CIC launches 'Wonder Bulb'

CIC Holdings PLC, in association with Orel Manufacturing and Hybrid Technologies launched an air purifying CFL bulb.

"Branded the CIC Wonder Bulb, it sanitises air by killing micro organisms in the air without the use of any harmful sanitisers," a spokesman for CIC said.

Chairman of CIC Holdings PLC, Lakshman Fernando launches the CIC Air Purifying Wonder Bulb.

"The innovative coating on the bulb not only kills germs, but also destroys odours in the air," he said.

Chief Scientist, Hybrid Technologies, Manju Gunawardana said, "The US Environmental Protection Agency states that indoor air is up to 10 times more polluted than outdoor air. Indoor air pollution is caused by volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde, styrene and toluene being released from various household products, appliances and equipment and micro organisms such as bacteria and viruses."

"The nano photocatalytic technology used in this product will neutralise poisonous chemicals into harmless gaseous compounds such as nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen," he said.

Chairman, CIC Holdings PLC, B. R. L. Fernando said, "We are proud to launch this one-of-a-kind nano technology bulb together with our business partners. The public can look forward to many more revolutionary products such as this from CIC in the future."

Managing Director and CEO, CIC Holdings PLC, Samantha Ranatunga said, "We are happy and proud to have introduced another first to Sri Lanka with the launch of the CIC Air Purifying Wonder Bulb.

Our Home Care division was established to raise the living standard of the community by providing sustainable living options and we are confident that the introduction of this product will contribute towards our goal."

"The environment-friendly, energy efficient bulb will support clean environment. We will introduce more products that will help sustain the environment," he said.

The future requirements of the Sri Lankan business landscape will be taken into consideration in home care and will focus on becoming a growth stimulant, biological pesticides company in the country, Ranatunga said.
