Chaminda, Champa and Kushanthi impress
TABLE TENNIS: Chaminda Wijegunawardena and Champa Wimalawardana de
Silva, both of Lake House became men's and women's veterans singles
champions at the Nationalised Services Open and Veterans Table Tennis
Championship worked off recently.

In the Veterans Men's championship, Chaminda Wijegunawardena of Lake
house emerged champion beating B. Selvamohan of Rupavahini, while in the
veteran Women's Championship, Champa Wimalawardana de Silva of Lake
House emerged champion beating K.K. Nilanthi (Insurance Corporation).
Then in the Veterans Mixed Doubles Champa de Silva and Chaminda
Wijegunawardena teamed up for Lake House to beat K.K. Nilanthi and
Rajeshwaram.
Among the women's events, Kushanthi Ariyaratne (Bank of Ceylon) won
Women's singles, then won women's doubles partnered by Prasadani
Leanagama.

Open men's singles: Prabath Indrajith (NSB) the winner and
runner-up was Kanchana Atapattu (CEB).
Open men's doubles: Thavindu Peiris and Dimuth Warnapura
(Central Bank) - the champs and runners-up: Pamuditha Wanigasekera and
Prabath Kumara (People's Bank).
Women's singles championship: Kushanthi Ariyaratna (Bank of
Ceylon) and runner-up: Niwarthana Udugama (People's Bank).
Women's doubles champions: Kushanthi Ariyaratna and Prasadani
Leanagama (Bank of Ceylon), runners-up: Niwarthana Udugama and Mala
Pushpakumari (People's Bank).
Mixed Doubles Open Championship: Kanchana Atapattu and
Gayathri (Ceylon Electricity Board), runners-up: Nuwan Perera and
Niwarthana (People's Bank).
Veterans men's singles: Champ Chaminda Wijegunawardena (Lake
House), runners-up: G. Selvamohan (Rupavahini).
Veterans men's doubles: Prasad Perera and Senanayake (Central
Bank) beat Chaminda Wijegunawardena and Tissa Dhammika (Lake House).
Veterans Mixed Doubles: Champs Chaminda Wijegunawardena and
Champa de Silva (Lake House), runners-up: K.K. Nilanthi and N.
Rajeshwaram (Insurance).
