Multiculturalism – who is really benefiting?
Let’s get some things straight. Today the West
enjoys coming up with theories and terminologies for how people of
the world should function according to its formats. They issue
blueprints for how nations should live. The West needs to be
reminded that it was the West that began slavery, created white and
non-white mentality from which discrimination, racism and ethnic
tensions originated.

Only disciplinary action against an individual:
Impeachment – nothing to do with independence of Judiciary
With due respect for the post of the Chief
Justice and Parliament, we would like to stress that the current
action against Dr. Mrs. Bandaranayake is a disciplinary hearing
against a senior most person in the Judiciary. Disciplinary action
against judges, other than those in the Supreme Court and the Court
of Appeal, are taken by the Judicial Services Commission (JSC).
However, the JSC has no such authority when it comes to judges in
the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.

Chief Justice Renato C. Corona impeached last week in Manila
Mr. Corona lost his job after it was disclosed
in his impeachment trial that he had failed to declare $2.4 million
in foreign currency deposits. Supporters of President Benigno S.
Aquino III have said the chief justice needed to be removed because
they feared he would be an obstacle to investigations of past
corruption, especially those related to Mr. Corona’s patron, former
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
