Man marries widow and her daughter

An incident where a man who married a 44-year-old widow and later left her and married her 20-year-old daughter was reported from Avissawella.

According to police investigations, the daughter had married him despite being aware that he was married to her mother. Investigations had also revealed that the suspect had an illicit affair with the daughter while being married to the mother.

His marriage to the widow was registered by the Getahetha marriage registrar in 2009 and the daughter in 2012 at the office of the Deraniyagala registrar.
