Kilinochchi farms, district offices receive equipment

A ceremony to distribute equipment to farms and district offices of the Department of Animal Production and Health (AP and H) was held last Tuesday at Kilinochchi.

Governor of the Northern Province, G.A. Chandrasiri participated as the chief guest and distributed the equipment.

The equipment was donated under the CIDA project of the Food and Agriculture Organisation.

Accordingly, district offices received two refrigerators and farms received high pressure machinery and nitrogen cylinders for artificial insemination of animals.

Secretary of the Provincial Ministry of Agriculture U.L.M. Haldeen, Provincial Director of AP and H Department Dr. S. Vaseeharan, Provincial Director of Irrigation Eng. K.S. Sivapatham and Assistant Directors of five district offices were also present.
