KPMG signs MoU with Sri Jayewardenepura University
KPMG in Sri Lanka recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with the Department of Accounting of the University of Sri
Jayewardenepura, to advance higher education and professional career
opportunities in the field of Accounting and Finance.
The arrangement will provide practical learning opportunities for
students at the University, where a series of knowledge sharing
initiatives will be implemented by the two organisations covering areas
such as training, research and provide practical exposure to students.
In terms of the arrangement, an Endowed KPMG Professor of Accounting
post will be created in the Department of Accounting at the University
of Sri Jayewardenepura. The move makes formal an already strong
relationship between the two establishments and further enhances KPMG's
commitment towards promoting education and knowledge empowerment.
The MoU was signed between Vice Chancellor, University of Sri
Jayewardenepura, Dr. N. L. A. Karunaratne and Managing Partner of KPMG
in Sri Lanka, Reyaz Mihular. Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and
Commerce of the University, Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, Partner - People,
Performance and Culture of KPMG, Yohan Perera, Head of the Department of
Accounting of the University, Prof. (Ms.) Samanthi Senaratne, Partner,
KPMG Chamara Abeyrathne and Manager, Human Resources, KPMG, Ms. Aruna
Rajapakse were present. |
