Oshin

Cyril Chandrasekara Gunawardhana's Oshin Part I was launched recently as a Samudra Wettasinghe publication. It is the authentic English translation of Sugako Hashida's Japanese book Oshin.

Oshin is the story of a little girl who faced the vicissitudes of life. It was telecast in Japan in 1988 and was welcomed by the younger generation in many countries. The story depicted the social, political and economic life of Japan during World War I.










 

Asankage Vismitha Jaya

Gunarathne Ekanayake's latest adolescent novel Asankage Vismitha Jaya was launched recently as a Nipun publication.

It is the final part of Thegi Godai, the adolescent novel that won first place in the Samastha Lanka Adolescent Novel competition held in 2000.
