Drinking water project for Kurunegala

The Government has launched a project to provide pure drinking water for 561,000 persons in the Kurunegala district at a cost of Rs. 43,397 million.The project is implemented at four selected areas in the Kurunegala district namely, Makandura, Kuliyapitiya, Polgahawela, Alawwa, Pothuhera and Rideegama.

The initial work of these four water projects will commence shortly, said Indika Bandaranayake, the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils who is also the Kurunegala District Parliamentarian at a meeting of Provincial Journalists of Sathkorale Free Media Association held recently at Panduwasnuwara.
