Nanotechnology park to be opened tomorrow

The first nanotechnology research centre and nanoscience park will be opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Homagama tomorrow.

Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology and the Ministry of Technology and Research laid the foundation stone in June 2012 for the commencement of construction of the park which is named Nanotechnology Centre of Excellence (NCE). Sri Lanka's first nanotechnology park is in a 50-acre land at Pitipana, Homagama.

The park has been set up with Government and private sector participation. The Nanotechnology Park has been set up with the aim of creating opportunities for all businesses to develop new products.
