Queen’s Baton Relay begins : The Queen’s Baton Relay is the Commonwealth Games’ equivalent of the Olympic Torch. Ahead of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, the Baton will be travelling to all Commonwealth countries, uniting them in the spirit of the Commonwealth. The Baton will be in Sri Lanka from October 19 – 21 and the British High Commission is organising the event to celebrate this special occasion.It started with a relay at the Independence Square in Colombo, with 16 children.
