
Malani on APSA panel

Sri Lanka's leading actress Malani Fonseka has been appointed as a
jury member of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards Academy (APSA) Brisbane,
Australia. The APSA will screen Prasanna Vithanage's Flowers of the Sky
which won her the Silver Peacock Award for the Best Actress at the 39th
International Film Festival of India. The film will be screened at the
Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane on December 1.
Weraliyadda Sankanade
Award-winning vocalist Senanayake Weraliyadda will be featured in the
Weraliyadda Sankanade musical program at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda
Rajapaksa National Theatre on December 8 at 6.30 p.m. The music is
directed by Janaka Fonseka and choreography is by Chandana
Wickremasinghe. Vasantha Bandara Dukgannarala will compere the show.
RanSalakuna at Ananda College
RanSalakuna, a musical extravaganza presented by the Cancer Care
Association (CCA), will be staged on November 27 at the Kularatna Hall,
Ananda College, Colombo. The charity show is held to pay tribute to the
musical genius of the late Lionel Ranwala. Guests will be treated to an
evening of tasteful folk songs, dance and music performances. It is
directed by Sahan Ranwala on behalf of the Lionel Ranwala Folk-art
foundation. All proceeds are in aid of the Anuradhapura Hospice of the
CCA which provides palliative care - providing comfort to terminally ill
cancer patients during the last days of their lives.
