CASL hosts CAPA Board meeting
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CASL) recently
hosted the board and committee meetings of the Confederation of Asian
and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), the largest regional accounting
organisation with a geographical area that spans half the globe.
Accountants from the Asia Pacific region including Australia,
Bangladesh, Canada, China, India, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Pakistan
and Sri Lanka were present.
The CAPA meetings included the Board Meeting, Annual General Meeting,
Governance and Audit Committee, Public Sector FM Committee, the
Professional Accountancy Organisations Development Committee and the
Public Sector Financial Management Committee meetings.
CAPA is the regional organisation representing national accountancy
organisations across the Asia-Pacific region. Today, CAPA has a
membership of 31 accountancy organisations in 23 jurisdictions.
The President of CAPA is Sujeewa Mudalige. Past President of CA Sri
Lanka. CA Sri Lanka's President Arjuna Herath was appointed a board
member of CAPA.
The CAPA membership includes Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, China,
Fiji, France, India, Japan, Korea, D.P.R Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, New
Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samara Region, Samoa,
Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, United States of America and
Vietnam.
CA Sri Lanka also hosted the CAPA Board and Committee meetings in
2012. |
