Funds for senior citizen's pilgrimages

The North Western Provincial Council will provide facilities for senior citizens to go on pilgrimages to places of religious worship in the country.

Each Senior Citizens Association will be provided with funds upto Rs. 100,000 for the purpose. NWP-PC Councillor Johan Fernando disbursed funds among four senior citizen's associations in the Nikaweritiya electorate. Around 150,000 senior citizens of the NWP would benefit from this, the sources said.
