Visits Sri Lanka after a lapse of 12 years:
Japan-Sri Lanka parliamentary league due here
The members of the Japan-Sri Lanka Parliamentary League are scheduled
to visit Sri Lanka by the end of this month.

Ambassador Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, met the President and the
Secretary-General of the Parliamentary League to discuss the program and
other functionaries and meetings during their visit.
During the three-day visit, the delegation would call on the
President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L.
Peiris and would be hosted by the Minister of Economic Development Basil
Rajapaksa and the Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy Susil
Premajayantha, among others.
The delegation would be led by the President of the League, Masahiko
Komura, who is also the Vice President of the ruling Liberal Democratic
Party [LDP] of Japan and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Secretary-General, Madam Yuko Obuchi, the former Cabinet Minister
and Senior Vice Minister for Finance, too would be in the delegation.
The 12-member delegation would consist of senior parliamentarians and
political leaders of the Government of Japan.
The Japan-Sri Lanka Parliamentary League has 67 members, consisting
of parliamentarians from the Liberal Democratic Party, Democratic Party
of Japan and from other political parties.
The President of Sri Lanka-Japan Parliamentary League in Sri Lanka is
the Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy.
During the Presidential visit of 2013, President Rajapaksa hosted the
members of the Japan-Sri Lanka Parliamentary League and the members of
the Japan-Sri Lanka Parliamentary League, in turn, hosted the Minister
of Economic Development and the Minister of Environment and Renewable
Energy, when they visited Japan in September and October 2013. The
League is visiting Sri Lanka after a lapse of 12 years. A visit of this
nature from Japan would further strengthen the bilateral relations, in
all spheres, between the two countries.
