New VB court for Kobbewela Keerthirathna Vidyalaya

A modern volleyball court for the Keerthirathne Maha Vidyalaya Galigamuwa to play day/night matches constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.8 million from funds provided by the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council was opened by Kegalle district MP, Kanaka Herath recently. A felicitation ceremony was held in the school to honour the players.

The chief guest was Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Maheepala Herath and his son Kegalle district MP, Kanaka Herath. Even without a volleyball court this school's Girls' team had taken part in several volley ball tournaments played all over the country and won trophies.

The team Under 14 Girls, took part in the 2014 DSI Super Sports VB matches and won the championship shield.Sabaraggamuwa PC member Harsha Siyambalapitiya, Galigamuwa PS chairman Kelum Pathirana and several others participated.
