UNP Special Convention

A special convention of the United National Party was held at its headquarters at Siri Kotha, Pitakotte yesterday amidst a large gathering of party supporters representing all electorates in the island under the patronage of its National leader and leader of the Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe.

A resolution was unanimously passed at the convention to support the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena at the forthcoming Presidential election.

UNP national leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa, Chairman Kabeer Hashim, Leadership Council Chairman Karu Jayasuriya Asssistant leader Ravi Karunanayake and a few others also spoke.
