Kandy Muslim Ladies’ Union greets President

The Central Ceylon Muslim Ladies’ Union, Kandy headed by Mrs. Zulaiha Nazeer at a committee meeting decided to extend their felicitations to President Maithripala Sirisena.

The committee comprised Safiya Jameel, Karioon Huzair, Ayesha Mahroof, Hazeera Zavahir, Zaneena Rasheed, Nihara Riyard, Shihana Musthapa, Madania Marazook, Maleeha Rasheed, Sherine Marikar, Naima Naufel, Hidaya Zubair, Rinuza Munlis, Shihara Fazal, Sithy Jahufer, Renoz Anzar, Silmia Sahabdeen, Farwin Sha, Faiza Khan, Nazlee Mohideen, Mafooza Muhad.

“It was very heartening to observe that a very large majority of the Muslim community had voted for the victory of His Excellency to usher in good governance by upholding the democratic rights of its people for peaceful coexistence, equality and inter-communal harmony.

It is our fervent hope that the President will be blessed with good health and courage to fulfil the campaign pledges given to the people of the country,” a resolution from the Union said.
