The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs,
New Delhi celebrated the thirteenth ‘Pravasi Bharatiya
Divas’ at the Mahatma Mandhir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India
recently. A 12-member delegation from GOPIO Sri Lanka
attended the ceremony. Here the National Organiser of GOPIO,
M. Rajendran is being greeted by the Prime Minister of
India, Narendra Modi. Indian Foreign Affairs Minister,

The Sri Lanka Friend-in-Need Society in
Toskana, Italy donated a consignment of valuable medical
equipment worth over Rs. Seven lakhs, which included an ECG
plant to Director, I.D.H. Base Hospital, Gothatuwa Dr.
Mahendra Arnold. Society President Nalin Pradeep Dias,
Treasurer Sankha Senanayake, Kirthi Fernando, Rohitha Dias

Move to
eradicate dengue
The team of edoctor.lk in its endeavour
to see ‘A tomorrow without dengue’ held a meeting for over
400 persons, comprising parents, teachers and students at
Royal Institute, Maharagama recently, organised by the
Director of the Institute, Mrs. M. Abeyratne. Here a edoctor
member addresses the gathering, explaining the aetiology and
treatment of the dreaded disease.
