St. Thomas' vs Govt. Science College, match on March 27 and 28 at Bernard Aluvihare Stadium

Matale 'Big Match' between St. Thomas' College and Government Science College will be revived after a lapse of several years and will be played at the Bernard Aluvihare Stadium, Matale on March 27 and 28.

This match was first played in Mid-Sixties with Science College winning the inaugural encounter with spinner Tikka Siyambalangama capturing 9 wickets in an innings.

This was also their only win in the big match.

Since then, the Matale Thomians have been dominating the series scoring several wins.

But this matches has not been played annually. This year the old boys of both schools and the school authorities met on a number of occasions and took a decision to revive this match which augurs well for cricket in Matale.
