Gateway Colombo and Gateway Kandy shine at Netball Championship

Gateway College Colombo maintained their unbeaten record in the Inter
International School Over 15 Girls Netball Championship by winning the
title for the eighth successive year.
The Championship organized by the Colombo International School, saw
Gateway College Colombo beat Lyceum International School Wattala at the
final 14-13 and Gateway College Kandy beat Lyceum International School
Nugegoda at the plate final 14-7.
This year too Gateway Colombo won all matches with considerable
margins. At the Semi Final, Gateway Colombo beat Gateway Kandy 11-9.
At the Quarter Final, Gateway Colombo beat Colombo International
School Kandy 22-1.
In the group matches, they beat Lyceum International School Nugegoda
7-4 and Royal Institute 14-05. Gateway's Shenuka Wakkumbura was named
the Best Centre Court Player, Kavindi Badhuge was named the Best
Defensive Player and Thashmi Wijeratne was named the Best Shooter of the
tournament.
In the run up to the semi final Gateway Kandy beat Colombo
International School Colombo 14-7 and British School of Colombo 12-4. |
