Udayanga to be branded ‘fugitive’
Whereabouts unknown; SL team to visit Kiev mid
week; Interpol assistance sought for his arrest:
Sri Lanka’s former Ambassador to the Ukraine,
Udayanga Weeratunga, is to be declared a fugitive shortly as his
whereabouts remain unknown. Two countries, Sri Lanka and Ukraine,
are trailing him for alleged arms deals and threatening national
security by collaborating with rebel forces.

the missing persons issue arising from the last phase of the Eelam
War in the next two months in time to present a report to the UN

RADA chief remanded
The Chief Operating Officer of the
Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA), Saliya Wickramasuriya
was remanded yesterday until May 12 by the Fort Magistrate for
alleged financial fraud, Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.

17 more cases under FCID probe
The number of investigations carried out by the
Police Financial Criminal Investigation Division (FCID) has
increased by 17 more cases, during the past two weeks. At present,
69 investigations are being carried out by the Division, said Police
Spokesman, ASP Ruwan Gunasekara.
