Poson celebrations at Little Friends

A cake and savouries dansala was organised by the Little Friends Montessori School, Sirimal Uyana, Ratmalana at the school premises recently.

A play was performed by the staff on human values depicting the spirit of Poson.

Here children and teachers take part in one of the many activities organised by the school.

The dansala was opened by the directress of the School, Surangee Baranage.

Iftar at The Barnesbury

Three set Iftar menus inclusive of dates, beef or chicken rice kanji, a choice of a fresh fruit juice, a chicken or beef samosa, a mixed salad and a main are on offer at the Barnesbury at Barnes Place, Colombo. Each menu has a selection of salads ranging from mixed greens to chicken salad in mayo, Lyonnais potato, and Fattoush, an Arabic salad, tossed in a lemony garlic dressing. The mains are Lebanese or Egyptian style kebabs and breaded chicken breast. every menu is followed by desserts ranging from fresh fruit salad served with ice cream to banana split and a chocolate brownie with ice cream.

A prayer room is also available.

World Volkswagen Day Celebrations

The World Volkswagen Day was celebrated with a rally from the Taj Samudra to Mount Lavinia Hotel recently.

Classic and custom-made Volkwagons were flagged off by G. Morhad - German Ambassador in Sri Lanka. Mount Lavinia Hotel celebrated the Day with a 'Kiribath Car' and a promotion commemorating everyone's favourite 'Bug'.
