Dhikthala Kaalagola at Borella YMBA

Punyasena Gunasinghe's 'Dhikthala Kaalagola' a drama that contains many popular songs written by Charles Silva Gunasinghe will be staged at the Borella YMBA Theatre on Friday, July 10, at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. to raise funds for the Peradeniya Sarasavi Mithuro Welfare Association.

The cast includes Richard Maanamudali, Jayanath Bandara, Thushari Gunarathne, Isuru Weerasinghe, Upali Bandara, Upali Thiwanka Hewage, Saman Nishantha Gunasinghe, Ranjitha Ranaweera, Rohana Wijaya Sri along with many other leading artistes. Music and lyrics is by late guru Charles Silva Gunasinghe, while music direction and production is by Punyasena Gunasinghe with Mahendra Gunasinghe and Nandana Gunasinghe contributing with their Drum music. Costume design and lighting are by S.H. Sarath and Mihindu Madushanka, while Jude Sirimal is the main organiser. Nari Burathi at St. Thomas College, Kotte

Two special shows of 'Nari Burathi', the hilarious drama written and directed by Sarath Kothalawala, will be staged at St. Thomas College New Theatre, Kotte on Sunday July 5 at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m.

The cast include a host of popular artist such as Sarath Kothalawala, Kumara Thirimadura, Pubudu Chathuranga, Mihira Sirithilaka, Sarath Chandrasiri, Hemantha Iriyagama, Chinthaka Peiris, Janaka Ranasinghe and Wajira Kodithuwakku. Stage settings by Premalal Liyanage, music composition and stage management by Wimalajith Dombagahawatte with Upul Sampath, Harsha Malinda and Indika Niroshana assisting. Costume designing by Pushpa Samanthi Kothalawala and make-up by Janaka Ranasinghe. Sound Management by Chandana Nishantha Peiris, Stage lighting by Upul Weerasinghe. 'Nari Burathi' is organised by Jude Srimal. FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE at ALLIANCE FRANCAISE DE COLOMBO

FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE was held at the Alliance Francaise DE COLOMBO Auditorium at Barnes Place, Colombo 7 on Saturday, June 20, amidst a large and enthusiastic gathering. There were many young talented singers, dancers and instrumentalists who performed and most of them were above average.

The organisers must be commended for giving these performers a chance to show their talents by providing all facilities free of charge and now it has become a musical event look forward by the musical loving public in Colombo every year.
