Amazing girl plays eight sports

Little Sandunika Chathurangi of President's College, Rajagiriya is an
amazing child who competes in eight sports at the age of 14 and showing
plenty of maturity to do bigger things.

The sports include athletics, hockey, gymnastics, netball, and
football.
Her pet sport is athletics in which she has shown her prowess in
representing the school in both the Junior and Senior John Tarbat
Athletic championships and in all age groups.
Her performances are as follows:
Won the Western Province under-13 long Jump
Won the Western Province Schools under-14 long jump
Won the Western Province Schools under-15 100 metres sprint
Was placed third in the Western Province Schools under-16 100 metres
Was placed first in the Western Province Schools under-16 400 metres
Was placed second in the Western Province under-15 200 metres
Her crowing glory was when she was placed first at the Sri Lanka
Junior Athletic championship in 2013 running in the girls under-18 100
metres event when she was barely 12 years old.
She is also a member of her school's relay team and is often
entrusted with the last lap just in case her team-mates lag behind.
Her team's performances in the 4X100 relay events:
In 2015 Western Province Schools under-16 first place
In 2014 Western Province under 15 second place
In 2015 Western Province under 15 second place
In 2014 Western Province under 16 second place
She was a member of the schools under 13 team which won a Gold Star
at the All Island Schools hockey Carnival organised by the Sri Lanka
Schools Hockey Association and held in Kandy in June this year.
She was also a member of the schools football team which performed
well in the zonal championship. |
