Rory McIlroy listed to play US PGA Championship
Rory McIlroy is listed as part of a group with Masters and U.S. Open
champion Jordan Spieth and British Open winner Zach Johnson to play the
first two rounds of next week's PGA Championship in Wisconsin.McIlroy,
who has been sidelined with an ankle injury hasn't confirmed that he'll
play in golf's final major of the year.

The trio is schedule to begin the first round at 2:20 p.m.
New York time on Aug. 13 and then tee off at 9:05 a.m. for the second
round the following day.
McIlroy posted a photo on social media indicating he's traveling to
the U.S., a sign that the tournament's defending champion may return
from a injury.
Golf's No.1-ranked player posted a picture showing the inside of a
plane with a passport and a map displaying the Atlantic Ocean at the
southern tip of Spain and Portugal.
The annotation included an American flag, thumbs up, victory sign and
golf course symbols.
On Thursday, McIlroy posted a video of him practicing, writing "Feels
good to hit the driver again."
McIlroy was unable to defend his British Open title last month after
rupturing a ligament in his left ankle while playing soccer with
friends.
The 26-year-old Northern Irishman also skipped this week's World Golf
Championships Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio to give his ankle more
time to recover. McIlroy captured last year's PGA Championship at
Valhalla in Kentucky with a one-shot win for his fourth career major
title, three weeks after winning the British Open.
He also won the 2011 U.S. Open and 2012 PGA Championship.
The PGA Championship is scheduled from Aug. 13-16 at Whistling
Straits in Kohler. |
