Competition:
Nature photography winners
Dumidu Padeniya of Dambulla emerged winner in the recent Lankem
Robbialac nature photography competition and was awarded a Certificate
and a Robbialac gift voucher worth Rs. 20,000/-

Kalani Thilakarathna of Ihala-Imbulgoda came second and was also
awarded a Certificate and a Rs. 15,000/- Robbialac gift voucher while
Nuwan Gamage of Balangoda came third and was awarded a Certificate and a
Rs. 10,000/- Robbialac gift voucher.
The panel of judges from the National Association of Photographers of
Sri Lanka consisted of Henry Rajakaruna, Chandrasena Perera and Wimal
Amaratunge.
'Nature Photography Challenge', was the title and attracted thousands
of photographs from enthusiastic Sri Lankans from all parts of the
country.
Dumidu Padeniya said, "As one who cares about the environment, I
appreciate Lankem's efforts to strengthen the bond between man and
nature.
This was the first time I took part in a competition of this nature
and I thank Lankem for launching me on my journey as a photographer".
General Manager Lankem Ceylon PLC (Paints) Daminda Siriwardena said,
"The response to this islandwide competition was extremely encouraging.
I believe that as responsible citizens of this country, and of this
world, we should observe the beauty of nature everyday and protect
nature. The focus of this competition was also the importance of
preserving and protecting the environment for future generations. This
is our responsibility and we're glad we have spread the message". |
