Trinity avert Peterite march

Rain halted a possible first innings victory by St. Peter's College over defending champions Trinity College on the second and final day of their Singer trophy inter school cricket match at Bambalapitiya yesterday.

Sri Lanka youth cap Lakshina Rodrigo of St. Peter's scored 111 with 10 boundaries and two sixes in a Peterite total of 261 to which the Trinitians replied with 190 for 7 when rain intervened.

St.Peter's: 261 (Lakshina Rodrigo 111, Sachin Fernando 70, Lahiru Kumara 5/52)

Trinity: 190/7 (Shanogeeth Shanmuganathan 61, Dilan Jayalath 45, Tashila Dodanwala 39 n.o., Ashanth Malka 3/45)-YK
