First cinnamon products boutique in Colombo

Cinnamon Legends, an international ISO certified 9001:2008 ISO Quality Management Systems certified company, launched its first cinnamon products store 'Cinnamon Legends Boutique' at Lotus Road, Colombo 1 recently. The store was opened by Group Chairman, George Stuart & Company, Dilith Jayaweera.

This is one of the first companies in Sri Lanka to develop value-added products issuing cinnamon.

Managing Director, Cinnamon Legends, Upuli De Silva said their vision was to be the most admired and preferred cinnamon brand in the world. Cinnamon Legends was committed to be a caring provider of value-added cinnamon products that adds vitality, enjoyment and health benefits in the day-to-day life of people around the world.

"Keeping in mind the health benefits we came up with different cinnamon products for hand care, foot care and fragrances which has no side effects and is a 100 percent pure product made with true Ceylon cinnamon," she said.

Joint Managing Director, Cinnamon Legends, Nihal De Silva said it was his father G.P. De Silva who launched the venture at the age of 18 after completing his schooling. The trust and courage he gained from his father who bought and sold cinnamon in the local market in 1942 became the world's largest cinnamon exporter in the 21st century.

Cinnamon Legends, the sister company of G.P. De Silva & Sons International (Pvt) Ltd., was set up by the late G.P. De Silva in 1955. "Today, it meets over 90% of the global demand for true cinnamon and is shipped to Mexico, South America, USA, UK, Middle East and Europe and is ranked as one of the world's largest cinnamon exporters over the past 15 years," a company spokesman said.
