Mobile-based health information service
Digital Health (Pvt) Ltd., partnered the South Asia Infant Feeding
Research Network (SAIFRN) to launch a pilot program to deliver
informational health alerts.
This mobile-based health care service will deliver essential medical
information to pregnant mothers, and mothers of children aged less than
two years.
Digital Health and SAIFRN will implement this program in partnership
with registered mid-wives, who will identify and register mothers to
receive the information via SMS and recorded messages in their own
language.
The program aims to improve communication with and information to
mothers, to help them develop and maintain the health of infants.
Mothers could also find solutions to health issues in real-time via this
pilot program.
The objective of Digital Health (Pvt) Ltd., is to harness digital
technology to ensure care and convenience in delivery of healthcare in
Sri Lanka, and improve the quality of life for all citizens. Digital
Health's project with SAIFRN will begin in Haputale, and the information
will be delivered customised as per the stage of the pregnancy or age of
the child.
The communications have been developed in consultation with the
National Program of Maternal and Child Health.
It will also support the Public Health Program of the Ministry of
Health, and assist midwives to communicate and reach out to patients in
a timely and effective manner and will run for six months.
CEO, Digital Health, Ms. Apsara Wijayawardene said,
