'Architect 2016' ends today
The 'Architect 2016' trade exhibition organised by the Sri Lanka
Institute of Architects (SLIA) for the 34th consecutive time at the
BMICH ends today, February 21.
The Members' work and trade exhibition will be open to the public
from 10.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. with over 300 trade stalls and 132 panels
displaying architects' work.
The inauguration ceremony of the Annual Sessions of 2016 was held on
Tuesday. Minister of Special Tasks, Sarath Amunugama, as the presiding
officer represented President Maithripala Sirisena. Minister of
Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minister of
Housing and Construction Sajith Premadasa and Minister of Health,
Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne were the Guests
of Honour. Members of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects, members of
other architectural institutions in the region, foreign guests, special
invitees and students from architecture field were also present. The
national conference was held on Wednesday on the theme, 'Flows Touching
the Void'.
It was inaugurated by Minister of Law and Order and Southern
Development, Sagala Ratnayake. |
