Kachchativu fest:
SL-India Navies working in tandem
Over 3,500 Sri Lankan, 3,800 Indian pilgrims and 300 priests and nuns
are due to attend the annual feast of the St. Anthony’s church,
Kachchativu island today. It will be held on a grand scale with the
assistance of the Navy in coordination with the Indian High Commission.
The Indian pilgrims will be accompanied by the Indian Navy and the
Indian Coast Guards up to the International Maritime Boundary and then
escorted to the Kachchativu Island by the Sri Lanka Navy. The Navy will
provide meals, logistic arrangements, accommodation, electricity,
sanitary facilities, drinking water and security for pilgrims.
Lifesaving teams and medical teams will also be deployed. |
