Ford defends Vandersay

Sri Lanka leg spin bowler Jeffrey Vandersay may have at last found a mentor who may be able to put him on the right track away from the butchery of slam-bang T20 stuff.

Since taking seven wickets in a three-day match against Pakistan last year Vandersay has been thrown into the deep end bowling just a couple of overs at T20 cricket.

But now Sri Lanka team coach Graham Ford has told the hierarchy of Sri Lanka Cricket that Vandersay needs to be groomed as a wicket taker in Test cricket and not ruined by playing T20s.
