Workshops on financial literacy for entrepreneurs

Sarvodaya Development Finance Limited (SDF) recently conducted workshops on financial literacy in Balangoda, Ratnapura, Anuradhapura, Kandy and Gampaha for small business entrepreneurs who obtained financing facilities from the company.

It was conducted by trained staff of the parent company of SDF, Sarvodaya Economic Enterprise Development Services (Guarantee) Ltd (SEEDS).

Senior officials and Regional Managers of Sarvodaya Development Finance Limited also participated in the programs.

CEO, Sarvodaya Development Finance Limited, Ravindra Ranjith said, "Our aim is to give small and medium entrepreneurs a basic introduction to the concept of entrepreneurship, basic accounting, identification of basic accounting records, and the need to understand why a business should maintain a simple set of financial records." "We hope to educate more grassroots level business people on financial literacy regularly. We will have more programs of this nature in the other parts of the country covering all our branches," he said.

The Management of SDF provides an additional service to customers on top of lending to enhance their knowledge in business management.
