CCC willing to release personnel to public sector

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) has agreed to release management resources from the private sector to the public sector if they can fulfil certain conditions.

CCC Chairman Chandra Jayaratne, in a letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Enterprise Development, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Ranjith Fernando, has agreed to release management resources from the private sector on the following terms:

The Ministry should provide a statement of positions to be filled, the specific functions and responsibilities for those who are seconded, the knowledge skills and attitudes required to perform effectively in the posts, the period of release be limited to not less than six months and not exceed 12 months and during the period of secondment, private sector personnel replacements from the public sector should be trained and developed.

A copy of the letter has also been sent to Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund Dr. Nadeem Ul Haque.
