Ratwatte brothers arrested Lohan and Chanaka Ratwatte, fugitive sons of former PA Power and Energy Minister and Deputy Defence Minister Anuruddha Ratwatte, who are wanted in connection with the Udathalawinna massacre, surrendered to the Police yesterday. They surrendered to the CID in Colombo yesterday and were placed under arrest. Police had been hunting for the two Ratwatte brothers for weeks after they were named as suspects in the massacre of ten political party supporters on December 5 Parliamentary Election day. Their father, Gen. Anuruddha Ratwatte was arrested last week in connection with the same case and was remanded. The brothers are to be produced before the Teldeniya Magistrate shortly. |
