In memory of D.R. Wijewardene

The management of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd. and the Lake House Buddhist Association yesterday held an all night pirith chanting by the Maha Sangha at the Lake House premises to mark the 116th birth anniversary of its founder and press magnate D.R. Wijewardene.

The pinkama is to be followed by an offering of atapirikara to twenty five namas of the Maha Sangha today.

The Venerable Dr. Ittademaliye Indrasara Thera, Viharadhipati of Sambuddhaloka Pirivena, Colombo Fort, Ven. Dr. Velamitiyave Kusala Dhamma Thera, Chief Incumbent of Kelaniya and Chilaw Divisions and Vice Chancellor of Kelaniya University, Ven. Akuretiye Amaravansa, Vidyodaya Pirivenadhipati and Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara, Viharadhipati of the Gangarama Temple of Hunupitiya presided over at the pinkamas.
