Uva Hockey Association has decided to commence a seven-a-side hockey tournament in Badulla on March 28 and 29.

This was decided at the general meeting recently at the Old Duthians S.C. hall presided over by its president Mr. D. Vincent Dias, member of the Uva Provincial Council.

All hockey playing clubs in Uva have been requested to communicate with the Secretary Mr. R. M. Gunasekera, C/o. The Public Library, Badulla on or before March 20, for the seven-a-side hockey tournament.

Mr. Dias said that the members of the association should work hard and conduct several hockey tournaments including schools tournaments. The president further said that every endeavour would be made to represent the Uva team at the all National tournaments this year. Mr. Sarath Ratnayake has been unanimously elected as hockey coach for this year.
