Ceylinco Life plans four new branches in North and East

Ceylinco Life has announced plans to open at least four branches in the North and East of Sri Lanka in the second quarter of this year, in a fast-track bid to support efforts to bring normality to the war-affected areas and to achieve the company's vision of taking the message of Life insurance to every Sri Lankan family.

A team led by Director and General Manager R. Renganathan is working with representatives of these areas to finalise locations for branches in Jaffna, Trincomalee, Kantalai and Batticaloa, the company said. These new branches would be closely supported by existing branches in Medawachchiya, Hingurakgoda and Amparai, and Ceylinco Life would also appoint a new regional sales manager for the North and East the company's Director T. Ranasinghe said.

"We already have a significant base of policy holders in Jaffna and Batticaloa from those who travelled out of the war zone, but the potential for Life insurance has largely remained untapped since the private sector became involved in insurance," Mr. Renganathan disclosed.

He said the company would shortly begin recruitment of personnel for the new branches and help the revival of the North Eastern economy by recruiting from those areas.

"We plan to market our complete portfolio of products in the north and east," Mr. Renganathan added.

The company's network of 75 branches is said to be the largest computerised branch network in the local insurance sector. All new branches in the North and East would also be computerised, the company said.
