Distributor for electrical items in the East

St. Anthony's Consolidated, the consumer appliances marketer, signed a distributor agreement with Nazeela Hardware and Electricals in Kattankudi recently to commence distribution of Sanyo, Cosmo and BPL products sold by the company to consumers in the East.

According to a market survey conducted by the company, the return to normalcy in the East and surrounding areas have led to a demand for electrical items such as refrigerators, televisions, and other household items.

The two companies will jointly develop a network in Oddamaradi, Valachchanai, Eravur, Batticaloa, Kattankudi, Kalmunai, Akkaraipaththu, Ampara and Samanthurai. A service centre too will be established shortly.

St. Anthony's which has been in the electronic business for the past three decades, has the agency for all products manufactured by Sanyo, Cosmo and BPL in the Far East and in India.

Customers will have the option of obtaining their products directly or through a hire purchase scheme which has been arranged for them by St. Anthony's with the People's Bank and the Bank of Ceylon. These easy payment schemes entitle even farmers to make their payments quarterly during harvest time, on a 'Kanna' basis.
