A commemorative stamp will be issued by Government Philatelic Bureau on April 29, at 9.30 am, at the National Art Gallery, to mark the 9th death anniversary of the late President Ranasinghe Premadasa which falls on May 1.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will be the chief guest at the occasion and will open a photographic exhibition of the life of President Premadasa. The exhibition at the National Art Gallery will be opened to the public on April 29 and 30 from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.

The UNP Deputy Leader Minister Karu Jayasuriya will offer flowers in the morning at the statue of late President Premadasa at a ceremony on May 1, at Hulftsdorp, Colombo Central and there will be all night pirith chanting and a dhamma deshana will be delivered by Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera and on May 2, an offering will be made to the Maha Sanga at the Sri Sucharitha Hall, Colombo.
