CH open rugby season with smashing 32-3 win CH and FC opened their new inter club 'A' division League rugby season with a smashing 32 points to 3 points win over Old Zahirians Sports Club in at Maitland Crescent on Friday. CH and FC made their intentions quite clear from the kick off and collected their points from one goal and five tries after having led 20 nil at half time. Old Zahirians SC managed only a solitary penalty. Wing three quarter Nuwan Kumara led the way with three beautiful tries which set the pace for CH and FC's impressive victory. In addition, second row forward Bertie Jayasekera, prop forward Shashika Cooray and scrum half Roy Nishantha also scored a try each for the winners. Nalin Dissanayake converted one try. Full back N. Zubaideen put over the solitary penalty for Old Zahirians SC. Orville Fernando refereed. |
