INTRAD 2002 at BMICH Sri Lanka's premier industrial exhibition and investor forum, INTRAD 2002, will be held from September 4 to 6 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo. Trade delegations from the Netherlands, South Africa, Canada, Pakistan, Western Australia and UK will participate at this year's exhibition. The main export sectors promoted at the exhibition are apparel and textiles, ceramic and porcelain, coconut-based products, cut flowers and foliage, gems and jewellery, furniture and wood products, handicraft, toys and gift items, leather products, ornamental fish, rubber products, tea, spices and essential oils and export-related services, technology and machinery. An investor forum will be held on September 4 and 5 concurrent to the exhibition on the theme 'Invest in Sri Lanka, the Hub of Asia'. Private sector-led infrastructure development, Transforming Sri Lanka through information and communication technology, and Sri Lanka tourism - Variety and diversity of South Asia are the themes for the three sessions. Many guest speakers and expert panels are expected to tackle the important issues in these sectors. The exhibition is endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Enterprise Development, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Industries, Export Development Board, Board of Investment, Sri Lanka Tourist Board, Sri Lanka Tea Board, Department of Commerce and all the trade chambers. It is organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. |
