Fete Musique concert

"Bonsoir" tomorrow Monday (August 19) brings you the key moments of "The Fete de la musique" 2002 which remains to be one of the best concerts to have ever taken place in Colombo this year.

The Fete de la musique first began in France a little more that 20 years ago. It celebrates the first day of summer and is mainly a day for music lovers. Anyone can step on to the streets and sing dance or play a musical instrument.

This year, the Fete de la musique was an unforgettable concert at Galle Face Hotel. Some of the key artistes of the country paid tribute to Pandit Amaradeva. A piano concert by French pianist Naomie Jeanroy, was much appreciated by the classical music lovers and finally, the public let their hair down and relaxed with the exciting sounds of Wildfire.

Close to 800 people attended this concert, but if you are one of the unlucky ones who missed it or if you wish to watch again the best moments of that wonderful day join ITN tomorrow at 8.30 p.m. and enjoy the music featured on Bonsoir. The program compered by Aminta Paiva is produced by Sumaya Samarasinghe.
