Bowling Nationals September 14 to 28

The Y2K Bowling Alley at Darley Road will be conducting their inaugural Men's Bowling Nationals next month from Saturday September, 14 to September 28.

The competition will be sponsored by Dialog GSM.

All participants at the first Men's Nationals will receive three games each, the games starting at 10 a.m on September 14.

At 12 noon the 24 highest scorers of the expected 100 odd participants will be selected on an average of all games.

Twenty four players will go into 8 boxes each and the first eight players will be seeded and the balance will be drawn.

The final sixteen out of the 24 will be selected for the finals on Saturday, September 28 at 5 p.m.

"The Bowling Federation of Sri Lanka is in the process of being affiliated to the Asian and World Tenpin Bowling Federation" said the President, Hiran Serasinghe.

Nushad Perera representing Dialog GSM said that Dialog is very much involved in sports and set up the first pool table at the Millennium Park and have been involved in athletics for the past eight years.

Deepal Perera of the Millennium Bowling Club said that the club has about 360 members and according to tournament secretary Aktar Musajee entries will close on August 31 and will cost Rs 200 for an individual and Rs 1000 for a club to be affiliated to the Millennium Club.
