The watch is a fully jewelled quartz analog with water resistance of upto 30 metres, a feature unheard of in slim watches, said Mr Kurien. Its unique features are the silicon chip used to conserve power while doubling battery life, a specially designed step-up motor and high tolerance, demonstrating the extreme and exacting precision of the watch. he movement of the watch was tested and certified by Chronofiable SA Switzerland, a world renowned independent horological testing agency. The company has also received a national award for excellence in the area of research and development in electronics from India's Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. t present it has 13 variants - eight in stainless steel and five gold plated. Titan is one of the largest integrated watch and jewellery manufacturers in the world, manufacturing over 6.6 million watches and 150,000 pieces of jewellery annually. The company reported a turnover of US$ 150 million during the financial year 2000/2001.
