Ensuring the best treatment for patients

Parkway Group Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in Asia, unveiled two state-of-the-art operating theatres specially designed for minimum access surgeries at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore recently.

This was done in keeping with its policy of ensuring the best treatment for patients at no extra cost to foreigners. Both theatres are newly renovated and installed with modern audio visual and teleconferencing facilities. Value-added features such as panel and voice control devices allow some of the best gynaecologists, surgeons and other specialists to improve operating efficiency.

Minimum Access Surgery (MAS) offers many benefits. Traditional surgery often requires a lengthy hospital stay and weeks of recovery due to large incisions. With MAS, the goals of surgery are being accomplished with small incisions and less psychological trauma. It also results in substantial cost savings.

The evolution of MAS has allowed it to encompass a range of specialities, including Ear, Nose and Throat; General Surgery; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Orthopaedic and Urology. Progress in MAS has also enabled its application to make inroads into traditionally complex disciplines of neuro-science and cardiac care, with remarkable results.

Ceylinco Parkway Medical Referral Centre (CPMRC) now handles all matters connected with treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore.

CPMRC Medical Officer Dr. Janaka Abeynayake referring to the opportunity of obtaining medical care in Singapore at one-third the cost in US and Europe says that CPMRC offers quick and ready access to all the information needed to seek advanced and quality medical care overseas.
