'Bethlehempure' and
Anil's magic

Soon the festive season will be upon us and in the first week of December, Anil Bhareti will stage his 'Bethlehempure' Concert on Saturday December 7 at the Moratuwa Buddhist Hall. As the title suggests the concert will include Christmas songs with 'Bethlehempure' Anil's popular seasonal song taking pride of place. Supporting him will be the Golden Chimes with Lankika - the group which launched Anil to fame.

Joining him on stage will be Annesley Malawana, Indrani Perera and Lankika to perform the evergreen hits of Clarence Wijewardena. The show according to Anil is designed to spotlight the songs introduced into the music firmament by Clarence Wijewardena 'the father of Sinhala pop'.

Last year when Anil staged his debut sell out concert at the BMICH many of his Moratuwa fans were unable to catch his show, so Anil decided to stage Bethlehempure at Moratuwa his second solo concert for the year - a round off on a festive note.

Moratuwa well known for its output of musicians will be in focus as well, as Anil tells us that he has created a special 'Moratuwa Spot' to feature Priya Peiris of La Bamba fame singing his popular hits.

Fascinating dance routines from the Solar Hits troupe will add further colour to the show which will be threaded together by the emcee Vijaya Corea. The concert is presented by Prasad Gunawardena and the media sponsor for the second time will be Sirasa TV and Radio.
