Seminar on Sports Medicine in Negombo today The Sri Lanka Sports Medicine Association has taken the lead role in organising seminars to educate sports minded people of the importance of sports medicine in event of injuries and what exercises one should do, what nutrition children involved in sports should take and the role of footwear in sports. The first of these seminars will be held today at Golden Sands Hotel in Negombo and it is planned to have similar seminars in other parts of the country. Among the speakers will be professor Rohan Jayasekera - the President of the Sri Lanka Sports Medicine Association, Dr. Ananda Perera President College of General Practitioners, North Western Chapter, Major General (Dr.) C. Thurairaja - Vice President of Asian Federation of Sports Medicine, Dr. Hilarian Cooray - Hony. General Secretary of Sri Lanka Sports Medicine Association, Dr. Duminda Munidasa - Senior Registrar in Rheumatology, Dr. Lalith Wijeyaratne - Consultant Rheumatologist, Dr. Windcer Perera - Consultant Paediatrician and Dr. K. Sri Ranjan - Secretary, College of General Practitioners, North Western Chapter. |
